Rick is best known for his psychedelic posters and album covers that he created in the 60's and 70's for bands such as The Grateful Dead, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Janis Joplin and many other cultural icons. In addition to his psychedelic works, Rick Griffin created the original logo for Rolling Stone magazine, was a major contributor to underground comic publications such as Zap and his more that a decade run as Surfer Magazine artist where he created Murphy, a super stoked surf gremmie.
